Shambhavi Naik

Chairperson of the Advanced Biology programme

Shambhavi Naik is the Chairperson of the Advanced Biology programme at Takshashila. She is also a Consultant with Inklude Labs.

Her research covers India’s policies in areas of emerging technologies, with a focus on healthcare and higher education. She has previously participated in the development of guidelines for gene editing governance by WHO, was involved as a drafting committee member for India’s risk assessment of genetically modified crops and worked with the Rajya Sabha Parliamentary committee on strengthening the DNA Profiling Bill.

Shambhavi has a PhD in Cancer Biology from the University of Leicester, UK and over 3 years of experience as a Postdoctoral Fellow at NCBS and InStem, Bangalore. She has a PGP in Public Policy from the Takshashila Institution.
