Advanced Military Technologies
Our Advanced Military Technologies research charts the impact of high-technology on India’s military transformation.
About the Programme (What We Do?)
Some critical and emerging technologies play a crucial role in the rapidly changing character of war. As states increase investments in their military capabilities, our AMT research evaluates the impact of space power, nuclear weapons, and key emerging technologies on military doctrines, strategic balance, technology sharing mechanisms, and arms control initiatives.

Read our Anthology on No-First-Use, our work on Strategic Stability, and the Nuclear Trilemma between India, China and Pakistan.
Critical and Emerging Military Technologies
This project examines how remotely piloted vehicles, artificial intelligence, and advanced computing will shape India’s armed forces in the 21st century. It also delves into what needs to be done to build Indian capabilities in these areas, and India’s diplomatic engagement in international negotiations concerning these technologies.
