Brigadier Anil Raman

Research Fellow for the Indo-Pacific Studies Programme

Brigadier Anil Raman (Retd) is a Research Fellow at the Takshashila Institution with extensive service in counterinsurgency, border management, UN peacekeeping, staff, REDFOR analyst and instructional roles. A former Visiting Fellow at the U.S. National Defense University, he earned his master’s from the University of Wyoming, focusing on U.S. foreign policy decisionmaking towards India in the Clinton and Bush presidencies. His research interests include the impact of American domestic politics, leadership, and advisory dynamics on foreign policy making.
