Last week of 2025, I was a speaker at an event organised by the Mizuho India Japan Study Centre (MIJSC) at IIM Bangalore, discussing challenges and opportunities for India-Japan semiconductor collaboration. MIJSC works to deepen India–Japan collaboration through research, teaching, and dialogues that bring together policymakers, industry leaders, and academics.

The other panellists were Dr Eri Ikeda and Dr Saideep Rathnam.

The recent export controls by China on dual-use items, including on basic electronic components that are core industrial automation, gives Japan-India semiconductor collaboration even more urgency.
