Raja Karthikeya

Adjunct Fellow of the West Asia Studies

Raja Karthikeya is Adjunct Fellow leading West Asia studies at Takshashila. His areas of research include geopolitics of West Asia, peace mediation, counter-terrorism, nuclear disarmament and the impact of climate change on peace & security.

An international affairs professional with over two decades in diplomacy and peacebuilding, his career has spanned the United Nations, leading think tanks, and frontline policy work across Asia and Africa.

He has been part of UN peace mediation efforts and crisis response efforts in Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran and on the question of Palestine. He also led UN support to policy development in South-East Asia and East Africa.

He has been a Visiting Fellow at Oxford University’s Center for the Changing Character of War, and is the recipient of Georgetown University’s Centennial Award for leadership and public service. His work has been featured in The BBC, Times of India, Zee News and The Hindu among others.
