Gopal Tomar is a Geospatial Research Analyst at Takshashila Institution, where he works on geospatial intelligence, remote sensing, and spatial data analytics. His research interests lie at the intersection of GeoAI, Earth observation, machine learning, and environmental monitoring. He leverages satellite imagery, GIS technologies, and data-driven approaches to generate actionable insights for research, policy, and decision-making.

Prior to joining Takshashila, Gopal worked as a Project Intern at the Centre for Airborne Systems (CABS), DRDO, where he developed retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems and AI-driven information retrieval solutions for defense applications. He has also worked extensively on environmental monitoring, ecosystem assessment, and air pollution forecasting using multi-source satellite data and geospatial analytics. His work combines artificial intelligence and geospatial technologies to address complex environmental and strategic challenges through evidence-based research and data-driven analysis.
