Takshashila hosts discussion on India-China relations at Munich Security Conference

Takshashila Institution and the Centre on Contemporary China and the World (CCCW) and co-hosted a Munich Security Conference side event, “Reevaluating the India-China Relationship in a New Geopolitical Landscape”

Distinguished speakers included:

Da Wei, Director of Tsinghua University’s Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS);  Nitin Pai, Director, Takshashila Institution; Ambika Vishwanath, Principal Research Fellow at La Trobe Asia and Founder-Director of the Kubernein Initiative; and Senior Colonel (ret.) Zhou Bo, Senior Fellow at Tsinghua University’s CISS.

The discussion was co-moderated by Manoj Kewalramani, Chairperson of the Indo-Pacific Studies Programme at Takshashila, and CCCW Director Professor LI Cheng.

The session focused on three pivotal questions: 

  1. How domestic factors in both nations influence bilateral ties;
  2. The impact of the international geopolitical landscape on the relationship’s direction; and
  3. The role of India-China relations in shaping global dynamics.
