The 29th edition of the India Trilateral Forum (ITF) was held in Bengaluru on 22-23 October 2026. This iteration was co-hosted by the Takshashila Institution, the German Marshall Fund of the United States (GMF), and the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs.

Now in its 17th year, the ITF is the leading platform for dialogue connecting India, the United States, and Europe. It is a closed-door, invitation-only, track 1.5 dialogue held under the Chatham House Rule, bringing together senior policymakers, strategic thinkers, and leaders from the technology, defence, and start-up communities across the three regions.

ITF has previously been held in Delhi, and this edition marked its return to Bengaluru after 12 years. The forum brought together approximately 40-50 international participants from the United States, Sweden, Finland, Germany, the United Kingdom, Belgium, France, Poland, the Netherlands, Italy, and South Korea, alongside senior Indian policymakers and officials, including from the MEA.

This edition focused on the future of India-U.S. and India-Europe relations, with sessions covering foreign policy, the trajectory of India-China economic engagement, global AI governance, European rearmament and defence cooperation, critical minerals substitution, and semiconductor supply chains.
