About the Role
The Takshashila Institution seeks a Research Analyst for its Advanced Military Technologies and Outer Space (AMTOS) Programme. The programme studies how technologies such as artificial intelligence, space systems, autonomous platforms, hypersonics, and advanced materials are reshaping national power.
The Research Analyst will examine the impact of military technologies across three arenas: industry, the Armed Forces of India, and diplomacy. The role involves analysing how new technologies alter military capabilities, doctrine and force structure, as well as studying how technology is shaping India’s international partnerships, export controls and multilateral engagement. The analyst will produce policy-relevant research for decision-makers, working closely with senior researchers at the institution.
Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree or higher educational qualifications. A background in either technology or strategic studies is preferred but not necessary. Candidates must also be self-starters, capable of taking initiative, proposing new ideas, and working independently.
Key Responsibilities
Research & Analysis
- Conduct research on implications of emerging technologies for India’s defence industrial base, its military capabilities, and its diplomacy.
- Write discussion documents, policy briefs, issue briefs, op-eds and newsletters. Also contribute actively to Takshashila’s podcast and internal discussion.
