Narayan Ramchandran is one of Takshashila’s co-founders. He worked on Wall Street (mostly at Morgan Stanley) for over 20 years, most recently as head of global emerging market investing and then country head of Morgan Stanley in India.
Anand Arni
Anand Arni is a Distinguished Fellow at the Takshashila Institution. As a career intelligence officer, he has spent over 25 years specialising in India’s neighbourhood policies. Post-retirement, he continues to focus on India’s western neighbours.
Lt General (Dr) Prakash Menon
Lt. Gen. (Retd) Prakash Menon is the Director of the Strategic Studies Programme. He is also Professor Emeritus at Trans Disciplinary University (TDU), Bangalore and Adjunct Professor, National Institute of Advanced Studies, Bangalore.
Pranay Kotasthane
Pranay Kotasthane is deputy director of the Takshashila Institution. Pranay’s current research includes high tech geopolitics and the politics of radically networked societies. Pranay teaches public policy, international relations, and public finance at Takshashila’s graduate and post-graduate programmes.
Air Marshal TD Joseph
Air Marshal TD Joseph has in-depth experience in strategic and operational planning, flying operations and air defence operations, managing and orchestrating resources worth thousands of crores, heading training of nearly 20,000 personnel every year, and command & leadership. He is a security strategy thinker with a published book (Winning India's Next War: The Role of Aerospace Power, published in 2007) and several articles on aerospace power and international security.
Hema Hattangady
Hema Hattangady is a B Com from Karnataka University Dharwad and an MBA from IIM Kolkata. She joined the business established by her late father-in-law, Shri H. Vasanth Rao, a renowned innovator and entrepreneur.
Shambhavi Naik
Shambhavi Naik is the Head of Research at Takshashila and is the chairperson of the Advanced Biology programme. She has a PhD in Cancer Biology. Shambhavi’s research covers India’s policies in areas of emerging technologies, with a focus on healthcare and higher education.
Sowmya Prabhakar
Sowmya is the Chief Operating Officer (COO) at the Takshashila Institution. She has 20 years of diverse experience, combining both the corporate and social sectors. At Takshashila, she leads all the efforts towards HR, corporate engagement, outreach and partnerships.
Anupam Manur
Anupam Manur is an Assistant Professor at the Takshashila Institution. He was previously working as a Research Associate at the Indian Institute of Management – Bangalore, after completing his Masters in International Business (Economics) from Lancaster University.
Aditya Ramanathan
Aditya is an Associate Fellow with the Takshashila Institution. A journalist by training, he has previously worked at Mint and as a freelancer. He has also researched and written on colonial-era Indian military history.
M. Govinda Rao
Dr. M. Govinda Rao is the Councillor of Takshashila Institution. He is an economist and was a member of the 14th Finance Commission.
Dr. Rao has previously served as the Director of National Institute of Public Finance and Policy and as the Director of Institute for Social and Economic Change.
Suyash Desai
Suyash was an Associate Fellow working in China Studies Programme at The Takshashila Institution from 2019 to 2022. His main areas of research were on China’s defence and foreign policies. He also publishes a fortnighty newsletter on the Chinese People’s Liberation Army called the PLA Insight.
Priyal Lyncia D’Almeida
Priyal was a Research Analyst at Takshashila working under the Advanced Biology programme. Her interests lie at the intersection of International Relations and Life Sciences.
Dr. Harshit Kukreja
Harshit Kukreja was a Research Analyst working with the Advanced Biology team at Takshashila. His research interests lie in health policy, public health, ethics and economics.
Megha Pardhi
Megha was a Research Analyst (China Studies) in the Indo-Pacific Studies programme at The Takshashila Institution. Her research focuses on China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA) and the role of emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, and Quantum Computing in the military.
Arjun Gargeyas
Arjun Gargeyas was a Research Analyst working with the High Tech Geopolitics programme at the Takshashila Institution. Arjun’s interests primarily lie at the intersection of foreign, technology, energy, and environmental policy.
Kajari Kamal
Dr. Kajari Kamal is a PhD in Political Science from the University of Hyderabad. Her dissertation assesses the salience of Kautilyan ideas to better understand the drivers of India’s foreign policy. She teaches a course on the relevance of Arthashastra in India’s strategic discourse in Takshashila’s GCPP (DFA) programme.
Prateek Waghre
Prateek is the Policy Director at the Internet Freedom Foundation. His research interests include the impact of technology in democratic networked societies, internet shutdowns, information disorder and major issues affecting the internet policy space in India. Prateek worked as a Research Analyst with the High Tech Geopolitics Programme at The Takshashila Institution from 2019 to 2022.
Rohan Seth
Rohan was the Progamme Manager for the Graduate Certificate in Public Policy (GCPP), Technology and Policy programme at The Takshashila Institution from 2019 to 2022. Rohan’s research interests include Data Localization, AI, Privacy, and Cross Border Data Flow.
