Nitin Pai Delivers the Beyond Carlton Memorial Lecture 2017

In remembrance of the lives lost at Carlton Towers fire seven years earlier, the Beyond Carlton team organised the annual Beyond Carlton Memorial Lecture on 25 February 2017, in Bengaluru.

Nitin Pai, director of the Takshashila Institution, delivered the Memorial lecture this year. The lecture focussed on an eight-fold path towards effective emergency services in our cities. Nitin spoke extensively on the Karnataka Fire Department's commendable role in saving people's lives and property. The lecture touched upon some of the issues faced by the fire department such as poor infrastructure, insufficient budget allocations and manpower issues.
