Nitin Pai speaks on the geo political importance of Myanmar and India at the Maitree Summit 2015

Nitin moderated and spoke at a panel on the geo-political importance of Myanmar and India at the Maitree Summit 2015 organised by the Youth for Foreign Policy. His primary assertion was that that China’s rise has pushed Myanmar to seek balance by drawing closer to India and the West. This in turn has created an opportunity for India to quickly develop its North Eastern region as a springboard to East Asia. Nitin pointed out how we can be cautiously optimistic that the new government in New Delhi will pursue this approach.
