Event Report | Takshashila Academic Conference - GCPP 36

The Takshashila Institution conducted a two-day online Academic Conference for its 36th cohort of Graduate Certificate in Public Policy (GCPP) students on September 30th and October 1st, 2023. Over 250 students from the cohort attended the conference.

The keynote sessions were addressed by Nitin Pai, Dr. Kajari Kamal, Jayesh Ranjan, Amb. P.S. Raghavan, and Jason Crawford on Day 1 and Prof. Rajeev Gowda, Lt. Gen. Prakash Menon, Prof. Ashish Kulkarni, Anupam Manur, and Krish Ashok on Day 2.

The conference also witnessed several breakout sessions delivered by various speakers on a diverse range of topics such as federalism in contemporary India, behavioural economics in public policy, digital data protection law, ONDC, cartographic warfare, lessons from banking development in the South Canara district, and more.

The conference also played host to spontaneous order sessions, where students led discussions on engaging issues such as the One Nation One Election proposal, universal basic income, a moratorium on AI development, reservation reform, private sector in defence manufacturing, and internet bans.
