Anupam Manur on India’s Growth Story at the Army War College, Mhow

Anupam Manur, Asst. Professor of Economics at the Takshashila Institution, addressed the Higher Command of the Army War College, Mhow, Madhya Pradesh on "India's Growth Story: The Story So Far and the Challenges Ahead" on Wednesday, July 12, 2023.

The talk emphasised the need for economic growth for India - for poverty alleviation, for human development, and for defence and security. Manur drew out the ups and downs of the Indian economy from the 1960s until now and also looked at the different sectoral composition of growth. Finally, he identified both the growth drivers in the coming years and the significant challenges to be overcome to achieve sustained high growth.
