Indian Economy workshop organised by the Takshashila Institution

The Takshashila Institution organised a workshop to discuss the Economic Survey of India,2015–16 .The workshop consisted of three sessions of 90 minutes each during which experts shared their insights from the survey.The discussion was kicked off with Dr. Rajan Govil discussing India's Economic outlook and prospects. Rajan is a co-founder of Marketnomix. He has worked as an economist with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and has taught at Delhi University, IIM Bangalore and Vanderbilt University.The second session had Dr. M. Govinda Rao discussing the sections of Economic survey which explained India's public finances. Dr. Rao is an economist and a member of the 14th Finance Commission. His research interests include public finance and fiscal policy, fiscal federalism, and state and local finance.Narayan Ramachandran, in the final session elaborated on the external sector and banking. Narayan is Chairman of RBL Bank, a social entrepreneur and a columnist with Mint. He is also an emerging market investor.The talk was attended by Dr. Rajeev Gowda and his team, Takshashila team, representatives of Teamlease company and journalists.
