Anupam Manur's talk on the global economy at Christ University

Anupam Manur, policy analyst at Takshashila Institution, was invited to give a talk to Masters students at Christ University, Bengaluru on 16 September, 2015.The talk was about the cause of Chinese economic slowdown and its impact on the global economy. He posited that there would be increased volatility and uncertainty in the financial and commodity markets in the short run, along with the risk of deflation spreading to other economies. However, in the long run, it can turn out to be a blessing in disguise for the world if it forces China to restructure its internal economy from export reliant to a consumption based economy.
