Nitin Pai speaks for liberalising education at The New Indian Express ThinkEdu Conclave 2015

Nitin spoke at a panel on "Do we need foreign educators?" at the 3rd chapter of The New Indian Express ThinkEdu Conclave 2015. Nitin explained why knowledge nationalism is detrimental to both knowledge and the nation and why India must open our doors to foreign educators and foreign institutions on a priority basis; and get rid of self-defeating rules that restrict their entry. Given the shortage in good education, the more the merrier. Nitin asserted that policy must also drop the hypocrisy of claiming education should not be for profit, while there is an entire shadow education market that is not only for profit but effectively unregulated.
