Nitin Pai quoted in The Times of India article

Nitin Pai is quoted in The Times of India by Sandhya Soman on the discrimination faced by African students in Bangalore. Nitin emphasises on the cultural consequences of urbanization:

"Ten years ago, these suburbs would have been villages. The surge of development has been such that the locals have no idea who is coming and going"Pai says it is clear that the tension isn't necessarily due to economical reasons as many locals have become rich because of the demand for houses to rent. But educational institutions should find a way to alleviate differences. They could learn from Manipal, the most famous university town in these parts. "The university might have had problems years ago but now it is has stabilised. It has a dean for foreign students," Pai says.
