Manoj Kewalramani in an India Ahead News Panel Discussion on Modi-Xi Informal Summit

Manoj Kewalramani, Fellow, China Studies, at The Takshashila Institution, was part of a panel on India Ahead News discussing the second informal summit between Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping in Chennai.

The discussion was hosted by India Ahead News’ Sana Khan. Other panelists included Vinit Goenka of the Bharatiya Janata Party  and Suresh K Goel, a former Indian diplomat and senior journalist Vijay Grover

Manoj argued that while it is good that the leadership in India and China are engaging regularly, going ahead the dialogue should be more formal and structured. The informal nature of such summits results in fewer tangible outcomes, he added.
