Y. Nithiyanandam quoted in Mid-Day

Y. Nithiyanandam, professor and the head of the Takshashila Institution's Geospatial Program, was quoted in the Mid-Day on Mumbai faces rising heatwave threat, lacks long-term plan: Study.

He was quoted as saying “Heat impact source in urban areas manifests in two primary forms: the urban heat island (UHI) effect and heatwave areas manifests in two primary forms: the urban heat island effect and heatwaves. To understand urban heat and mitigate its effects to a certain degree, we must analyse the factors contributing to increased temperatures, which ultimately affect the daily lives of citizens”.
