Anupam Manur in an ET Now TV panel discussion on India's dependence on Chinese products

Anupam Manur, Assistant Professor, Takshashila Institution appeared in a panel discussion on reducing Indian dependence on Chinese goods in the wake of heightened geopolitical tensions at the border.Manur argued that tariffs, duties, or outright bans can hurt Indian citizens more than they can hurt the Chinese. Indian imports account for only 2-4% of overall Chinese exports and are not big enough to create a dent in the Chinese economy.The solution is to build competitiveness in the long run and export a higher amount of goods to the world.
