Takshashila hosts the fifth Bengaluru Science Policy Forum meeting
The Takshashila Institution hosted the fifth Bengaluru Science Policy Forum meeting on 29 April 2025. The relative decline of Western influence, the erosion of globalisation, and the resurgence of ideological divides are reshaping how states perceive and utilise science, that is, not as a shared human endeavor, but increasingly as a strategic asset. Against this backdrop, the forum convened to discuss the theme ‘Global Political Changes and Science.’
Bengaluru Science Policy Forum brings together scientists and experts to discuss and deliberate on public policy issues. The forum seeks to initiate conversations between science and policy communities across India. It aims to sensitise scientists on societal engagement and realities through training, discuss ethical issues related to emerging technologies and engage with policymakers to push for change in the Indian science ecosystem.
The Takshashila Institution is an independent centre for research and education in public policy. It is a nonpartisan, non-profit organisation that advocates the values of freedom, openness, tolerance, pluralism, and responsible citizenship.
