Takshashila conducted the second weekend workshop for the 24th batch of the Graduate Certificate of Public Policy (GCPP) from 8th November to 10th November 2019 at Discovery Village Resort in Kanakapura, near Bangalore. The workshop was conducted as a practical exercise to acquaint students with the nuances of analysing public policy.
Over the course of the workshop the students divided themselves into teams to analyse and present various public policy solutions to tackle water supply to all households across India. The teams presented a variety of solutions, some practical, some radical, ranging from pricing of water appropriately, creating better checks and balances in the government machinery, all the way to creating phased schemes that tackle water crises, assimilate solutions, divide responsibilities between state governments, and many more.
The workshop was the second of the two offline contact sessions that complement the largely online certificate course offered by the Takshashila Institution. The GCPP runs for a period of 12 weeks and is ideal for active students and working professionals from various backgrounds.
