Takshashila’s Sarah Farooqui quoted in Deccan Chronicle on the distressed images of Indian Goddesses for the Save Our Sister’s campaign.
“Sarah Farooqui, a researcher at Takshashila, a non-profit organisation in Bengaluru, feels that though the campaign is visually successful it is intellectually laidback. “The narrative about portraying women as goddesses is something that we need to break free from. Where are the everyday women we meet, the working women, the selfless mother and possessive girl friend? I think, though such campaigns spread the message strong and clear, it has to be more relatable and break such stereotypes,” she points out.”
