On the morning of 12 January, Takshashila Institution hosted Dr Mysore Nagaraj, former President of MTA Capital Construction, at their office. Dr Nagaraj’s presentation provided insight on the maintenance and asset management of New York City’s subway system and lessons for Bengaluru’s Namma Metro.
As the seventh busiest rapid transit system in the world, the New York City subway is constantly facing challenges posed by a growing population. In his experience, Dr Nagaraj found the principle of three Cs – cooperation, collaboration and communication essential to all public infrastructure projects.
