The Takshashila Institution hosted a round table discussion with Dr Robert Shapiro on “Intellectual property rights and innnovation”.
Dr Shapiro, a prominent economist and former economic advisor to President Clinton recently co-authored an economic research paper with Dr Aparna Mathur (Scholar at the American Enterprise Institute) investigating the potential opportunity for further investment and job creation for improving the innovation environment in India. He presented his research and discussed the implications of his findings. He delved into the role of technology and business methods, FDI, innovation, and globalisation and how each of these impacts India and its economy.
The discussion was held on Friday, March 27th at Cobalt, on Churchstreet, Bangalore and saw over 25 participants including the staff, alumni and guests of the Takshashila Institution.
