Update: Thanks to overwhelming response from college students outside Mount Carmel College, the classes are being moved from Thursdays to Saturdays between 2.00pm-3.30pm every week. Prospective students are encouraged to walk into the first class on June 21st, 2014 and enroll after the first class.
The Takshashila Institution in association with Mount Carmel College, Bangalore (MCC) is offering the Foundational Certificate in Public Policy (FCPP), a 30-hour certificate course open to undergraduate students from any stream and any college in Bangalore. The course starts June 19, 2014.
The FCPP programme sets the foundation for undergraduate students who are looking to enter the sunrise industry of public policy and public affairs in India. Jobs and careers in public affairs are opening up for trained individuals – be it in the private or corporate sector, in foundations looking to change the world, NGOs working on various causes, political parties and even parts of government.
FCPP equips students with knowledge of the policymaking process and the factors that influence it. Students are taught what governments do and how they work, how to analyse public problems and understand the modern political landscape.
FCPP starts from June 21st, 2014 for a period of 10 weeks. The classes will be held on Saturdays from 2pm to 3.30pm at the Mount Carmel College campus. Apart from the lectures, the students will also attend a day-long policy simulation workshop. Students will be awarded a certificate by Takshashila and MCC on completion of course and satisfactory performance in the assessments. The course is priced at Rs. 6,000/-.
Interested students are welcome to attend the first lecture on June 21st before enrolling. The first class will take place in Room #5, Economics department, Mount Carmel College campus, Vasantnagar, Bangalore.
