V Vinay is the founder and the Chairman of LimberLink Technologies. His interests lie in mathematical aspects of computer science, which is Complexity Theory, Algorithms, and Data Mining. He was a professor at Indian Institute of Science for over decade where he co-invented Simputer (low cost substitute to personal computers).
Vinay received the Sir C.V Raman award in 2001 by the government of Karnataka for Excellence in Engineering research. He also won the Dewang Mehta Award for Innovation in Informatics for his role in developing the Simputer. He is currently a professor at the Chennai Mathematical Institute (CMI).
Dr. V Vinay teaches PP242 Quantitative Analysis for the Post Graduate programme in Public Policy.
