About Pranay Kotasthane

Head, Research

Pranay Kotasthane heads research at the Takshashila Institution.

Pranay started his career as a policy analyst focusing on geopolitics at the Takshashila Institution in March 2014. His research interests focus on geostrategy, geopolitics of the Indian subcontinent, and public economics.

Pranay is currently working on the New World Order project, the Intelligence Reform project, and State Finances in India. He also tracks India’s foreign policy equations with Afghanistan and Pakistan.

He also co-hosts Puliyabaazi – a Hindi podcast on policy, technology, and society. He also writes a monthly column on Indian foreign policy for Rajasthan Patrika.

At the policy school, Pranay teaches Fundamentals of Public Policy, Strategic Studies, and Fundamentals of Public Finance.
Pranay graduated from the National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal with a B.Tech. degree in Electronics and Communication. Thereafter, he had a stint of seven years with two Fortune 500 companies working on design of integrated chips for mobile processors.
