Second weekend workshop held for the thirteenth cohort of GCPP

Takshashila hosted the second weekend workshop for the thirteenth batch of Graduate Certificate in Public Policy Programme from 25th to 27th March 2016. The workshop was held at a resort in Nandi hills.

The workshop was conducted as a practical exercise to acquaint students with the nuances of policy making. Over the three days, the students divided themselves into three teams to analyse and propose alternative solutions for the liquor ban in state of Tamil Nadu. The entire exercise was broken down into eight steps which ranged from defining the problem to coming up with recommendations to the Chief Minister of the state. The Lecturers at the workshop included Nitin Pai, Pavan Srinath, Pranay Kotasthane and Anupam Manur. The final presentations were evaluated by Avinash Gowda, Adhip Amin and Nitin Pai.

The workshop was the second of two contact sessions that form an offline complement to the largely online certificate course offered by the Takshashila Institution. The course runs for a period of 12 weeks and is suited for active students, working professionals and those of various backgrounds.
