Dr. Alka Acharya


Dr. Acharya is the Professor of Centre for East Asian Studies (Chinese Studies) School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU). She served as a deputy Director (2012-2017) and is a Senior fellow of the institute of Chinese studies, Delhi. She has been teaching courses on Chinese Foreign Policy and Political Economy to the Masters and M.Phil students and guiding doctoral research since 1993.

She is credited as the joint editor of Crossing A Bridge of Dreams: 50 years of India-China, published in 2002, has contributed chapters to many books and regularly features in the Economic and Political Weekly.

Dr. Amit Cowshish

CowshishAmit Cowshish is a former Financial Advisor (Acquisition), Ministry of Defence and presently a Distinguished Fellow with the Indian Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses.

Bertil Lintner

330px-BertilBertil currently works as a correspondent for Swedish daily Svenska Dagbladet and Denmark’s Politiken. Bertil Lintner is a former Burma correspondent of the now defunct Far Eastern Economic Review.

In his visit, Bertil interacted with us, drawing extensively from his experience, about the geopolitical aspects of Myanmar, North-eastern India and the nature of trade among the borders of the two countries.

Air Vice Marshall Arjun Subramaniam


Arjun Subramaniam is a serving Air Vice Marshal with the Indian Air Force. He has more than 3000 hours of flying, mainly on Mig-21s and Mirage –2000 aircraft.

An alumnus of Defence Services Staff College and National Defence College, Arjun Subramaniam also holds a PhD in Defence and Strategic Studies from The University of Madras.

Associate Professor Happymon Jacob

happy3Happymon Jacob is the Associate Professor of Disarmament Studies at the School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University. Happymon also teaches courses on Nuclear Disarmamanet and National Security & International Relations.

A regular columnist with the Srinagar-based Greater Kashmir daily, Jacob is also a prominent Op-Ed Contributor to The Hindu.
