Book Review: Kautilya and Non-Western IR Theory

The Arthashastra is possibly the most important texts on strategy and statecraft ever written in the Indian subcontinent. But almost every study of it today tends to fit it into Realism, a school of international experience grounded in Western historical and philosophical experiences. I review Deepshikha Shahi’s Kautilya and non-Western IR Theory and find some interesting insights on how to study this ancient text in its own philosophical context.
