The second edition of Takshashila's Graduate Certificate in Strategic Studies conducted its workshop from 06 to 08 July 2018, at India International Centre (IIC), New Delhi.
The workshop comprised three days of intensive experiential learning delivered through lectures by programme faculty and eminent guests.
Over 20 participants attended sessions on various topics including the contemporary foreign policy of India, the role of force in statecraft, the economy as a tool of force and narratives in policymaking. Faculty at the workshop included Ambassador Shyam Saran, Dr. Sanjaya Baru, Shakti Sinha, SM Sahai, Lt Gen SL Narasimhan (retd.), Lt Gen (Dr) Prakash Menon, Kajari Kamal, and Pranay Kotasthane.
The current batch of the GCSS has 30 students drawn from a rich variety of professional and educational backgrounds. Participants include researchers, software professionals, students, lawyers, and consultants working with governments.
The workshop will be followed by live online webinars on various subjects taught by domain experts over the coming weeks. The next workshop of the GCSS will be held in August 2018.
The Takshashila GCSS runs for a period of 12 weeks and is suited for active students and working professionals and various backgrounds. The winter cohort is scheduled to commence on 29 September 2018. Applications are open till 17 September 2018.
