Takshashila conducted the first contact workshop of the Graduate Certificate in Strategic Studies from 16 to 18 March, 2018, at India International Centre (IIC), New Delhi.
The workshop comprised three days of intensive experiential learning delivered through lectures by course faculty and eminent guests.
Over 30 participants attended sessions on various topics including the contemporary foreign policy of India, the role of technology in statecraft, economy as a tool of force and narratives in policymaking. Faculty at the workshop included Amb Shyam Saran, Dr Sanjaya Baru, Dr Bhaskar Balakrishnan, Shakti Sinha, Vijay Kumar, Vice Adm Anil Chopra, Maj Gen Pradyot Mallick, Lt Gen (Dr) Prakash Menon, Dr Saurabh Mishra and Pranay Kotasthane.
The pioneer batch of the GCSS has 36 students drawn from a rich variety of professional and educational backgrounds. Participants include researchers, software professionals, students, lawyers, and consultants working with governments.
The workshop will be followed by live online webinars on a various subjects taught by domain experts over the coming weeks. The next workshop of the GCSS will be held in April 2018.
The Takshashila GCSS runs for a period of 12 weeks and is suited for active students and working professionals and various backgrounds.
