Takshashila’s Graduate Certificate in Public Policy (GCPP) programme aims to equip dynamic Indians with knowledge, skills and exposure to public policy. The 12 week course provides a firm understanding of the fundamentals of public policy and governance and enable participants to apply them in their professional lives and political discourse. The programme is designed to prepare participants to better engage in the public arena as active citizens. Graduate Certificate in Strategic Studies

Takshashila's Graduate Certificate in Strategic Studies (GCSS) programme is designed to introduce students to the fundamentals of strategic studies and policy analysis, including a course on Arthashastra. The programme comprises 12 weeks of blended learning and is conducted remotely using an Online Learning Management System (LMS). In addition, students get to attend two interactive 3-day workshops which include lectures and participation in a crisis simulation exercise.
The Graduate Certificate in Strategic Studies programme is ideal for those who wish to expand their horizons into the realms of foreign and strategic affairs. More »

Post-Graduate Programme in Public Policy

48 weeks | 3 terms | Online classes & readings + Five workshops | Starts Jan every year
The next batch begins on 19 January 2019. 

The Takshashila PGP is a 48-week programme for working professionals who wish to establish careers in public policy, public affairs and political leadership. The PGP brings together policy practitioners and academic experts from across the world. The programme is academically rigorous and attuned to the current requirements of industry, media, social sector and politics. Over a duration of 48 weeks, the PGP equips participants with a core set of skills in policy evaluation, economic reasoning, effective communication and public persuasion. Its emphasis is on how these skills can be applied to formulate and analyse policies in a variety of settings.

It is targeted at dynamic individuals who wish to enter the growing professional sphere of policy, public affairs, governance and leadership, while pursuing their current occupations. More »

In the midst of continuous churning of news and policies everyday, the Cogitatum series is an attempt to equip curious minds with a strong fundamental base on contemporary topics. It is a 4-lecture online course designed to provide a nuanced take on one present-day policy issue. This course is designed for anyone who wants to go beyond peripheral knowledge on a public policy topic. More »

Special Courses

4 to 6 weeks | Online classes & readings |

Special courses offer an in-depth exploration of one public policy subject. The courses are carefully curated and their unique design make them accessible to students, working professionals and individuals who wish to specialise in a particular subject. The courses combine six thematic online sessions with readings and assignments. Special courses carry two credits and can be taken in addition to other certificate programmes offered by Takshashila.

Urban Civic Leadership

12 weeks |  Weekend classes in Bangalore | 1-2 times a year
The next batch begins on 12 October 2018.
Takshashila conducts the Bangalore Political Action Committee's (B.PAC) Civic Leadership Incubator Program (B.CLIP), training talented individuals who wish to transform their city by contesting municipal corporation elections. By equipping candidates with skills in public policy analysis, municipal administration, political landscape and election campaign dynamics, the incubator project will create a pipeline of candidates that B.PAC and other civil society organizations can endorse for the future Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) elections. Master of Arts in Public Policy

2 year course | Full-time in Bangalore | Classes start in June every year
The Master of Arts in Public Policy is offered by Mount Carmel College, Bangalore (Autonomous) in collaboration with the Takshashila Institution. This is a two-year, full-time programme that is currently open to women only.

The programme is also designed to help participants become more engaged in the policy making process, as analysts, as public leaders, officials, public affairs specialists, researchers, public advocates and indeed, as change-makers and transformative individuals. More »
